Halloween, in a cup you can actually read

Jet black on the outside. Inside, 18 Halloween symbols are printed permanently: bats, pumpkins, a cauldron, spider webs, a coffin and more. When your leaves settle beside them, you read what they are telling you.

I'm Karin. I design these cups, I read with them, and I teach people to do the same. This is my Halloween party piece, and it comes with a little white china spoon with a bat on the handle.

How it works

Drink your tea, leaving a little liquid and a few leaves behind. Swirl the cup three times, turn it onto the saucer to drain, then turn it back over. Look at which Halloween symbols the leaves have gathered around, and your guidebook tells you what each one means.

What it gives you

• A Halloween centrepiece that actually does something
• Readings for friends that get the whole room talking
• A dark, dramatic ritual for the other 364 days too
• A gift for anyone who counts down to Halloween

The design

• Cup: glossy jet black with a crisp white interior
• Inside: 18 permanent Halloween symbols, including bats, pumpkins, a cauldron, spider webs and a coffin
• Saucer: matching glossy jet black
• Spoon: white china with a bat on the handle

What you receive

• 1 jet black teacup and matching saucer
• White china bat spoon, a gift from me
• Sample blends of my tea, chosen because they read clearly
• Symbols guidebook, with a QR code that takes you straight to your free online video course (valued at $110 AUD)
• Want a full pack of tea? Choose the green or black blend option above.

Questions buyers ask

Will it arrive before Halloween?
Orders are usually dispatched in 1-2 business days. Australian delivery usually takes 2-8 business days and international 5-12, so order early to be safe.

Can I read for friends at a Halloween party?
Yes. Read one cup at a time, and let the guidebook do the heavy lifting while you tell the story.

How do I get the course?
Scan the QR code in your guidebook and you are in. Buying it as a gift? I can enrol your recipient after delivery; just let me know.

Can it go in the microwave?
Yes. There is no gold or metallic trim on this cup, so it is microwave safe.

From Karin

I learned to read tea leaves at my mother's table in Tasmania, and I have been reading them all my life. For years my readings spread by word of mouth; in 2012 I took my practice online, and in 2017 I opened my online school, where over 17,000 students have since learned with me. Every piece is designed by me and made in my Berwick studio.
