Gold constellations and the twelve signs of the zodiac glow against a glossy black cup and saucer, like stars on a clear night. Inside, a crisp white bowl holds 32 tea leaf reading symbols, circled by my own verse in 24ct gold.

I'm Karin. I design these cups, I read with them, and I teach people to do the same. The black Zodiac is my boldest limited edition, and my choice for readings by candlelight.

How it works

Drink your tea, leaving a little liquid and a few leaves behind. Swirl the cup three times, turn it onto the saucer to drain, then turn it back over. The leaves settle beside the printed symbols: those near the rim speak to the near future, those near the base to what lies further ahead. Your guidebook tells you what each one means.

Porcelain, made in my Berwick studio. Food safe and made for everyday tea. Hand wash only: the real 24ct gold will not survive the dishwasher or the microwave. The printed symbols are permanent and will not fade.

What is the difference between the three Zodiac cups?
The design is the same on all three limited editions: 32 tea leaf symbols, the 12 signs of the zodiac, 24ct gold and a zodiac tag for your sign. Only the colour changes: white, black or midnight navy.

Frequently Asked Questions

These cups are made to be used, not just admired. Most are porcelain and some are New Bone China, both vegan friendly with no animal bone ash, and the imagery is kiln fired into the glaze, so it will not fade, scratch off or wash away with daily use. Karin has put them through extensive testing of her own for longevity. Hand washing is recommended to protect the 24kt gold and platinum detail.

Yes. Every cup is lead free, tested by Karin herself, and the imagery is food safe because it is kiln fired into the glaze using commercial factory grade equipment, which makes it permanent. That means you can drink from your cup every day with complete peace of mind. Please note that cups with gold or platinum detail must never be put in the microwave.

You do not need any experience at all. Each set comes with a symbols guidebook and a QR code for the free online video course, valued at 110 dollars, where Karin walks you through everything from brewing the cup to reading the symbols with confidence.

Loose leaf tea works best, as the leaves settle into the shapes you will be reading. Every teacup set arrives with two tea samplers, a green tea and a black tea, so you can begin the moment it lands on your table, and Karin's own reading blends are available in 25 gram bags when you are ready for more. If you prefer tea bags, the course shows you how to work with those too.
