Fairy's Fantas-Tea Tea Leaf Reading Coins
A portable oracle in your pocket. These minimalist metal coins, with a whimsical fairy aesthetic, transform any moment into an opportunity for insight, guidance and personal discovery.
What you can do with it
Add a 3D layer to any reading: cast these coins over tea cards, oracle decks or casting sheets to unlock multi-dimensional insights you can't get from cards alone. Hold the coins in both hands and focus on your question or intention, then gently cast them from a few inches above your casting mat or casting sheet. Read the meaning of each coin according to where it lands: coins near the centre of the mat carry the most significance, coins that fall outside the mat can be set aside as neutral or absent influences.

From Karin
I learned to read tea leaves at my mother's table in Tasmania, and I have been reading them all my life. For years my readings spread by word of mouth; in 2012 I took my practice online, and in 2017 I opened my online school, where over 17,000 students have since learned with me. Every piece is designed by me and made in my Berwick studio.

I am absolutely in love with Karin’s Tea Leaf Reading coins and the accompanying mat — they are stunning! The coins are extremely vivid and vibrant, with a gorgeous gloss that makes every symbol pop. The mat is equally beautiful and colorful; I’m a total stickler for vibrancy and she absolutely pulled it off. The images are rich and lively and everything feels so well done and professional.
Karen is incredibly kind and attentive — she even included extra goodies and always responds to my emails, which has been so helpful because I’ve sent her a lot about custom orders. This is probably my tenth purchase from her store and I’ve never been disappointed. Her craftsmanship and attention to tiny details show so much love and passion.
One item I also highly recommend are the Tea Leaf Reading buttons (if they’re still available) — they’re these adorable little buttons instead of charms and are absolutely gorgeous. The beauty of Karen’s system is its flexibility: you can use the buttons with the mat, then layer on top with charms or pair with her tea leaf cards. It’s such a groundbreaking system with so many layers and ways to personalize readings.
Do yourself a favor and read the guide she provides (and check the link in the booklets). I absolutely loved the videos she made explaining the readings and her other mat systems — they make learning the method so approachable and inspiring. I’ve also purchased her Alice in Wonderland button system — so beautiful and gorgeous!
I am a tarot reader and offer many divination systems and have also created my own (I own over 400 tarot/oracle decks and see many clients), and this system is one of my favorites to use for clients. It always leaves them excited by the colors, imagery, and depth of interpretation. I’m very, very happy with everything.
Huge thanks again to Karin for the wonderful goodies — she’s a beautiful, special soul. Big love to her and her husband Linus, who helps pack and ship our orders. I can’t wait for more of her future projects (still eagerly awaiting the Halloween spinner and spooky charms!) — so excited to continue supporting her and to purchase more of her amazing creations. Highly, highly recommended!

I love the weight and feel of them. They read well and are always spot on.
S
These are unique and beautiful and so much fun to use. I love the mat I’m so glad I got it too.
J
I love these mats! They add so much more to the readings!
Frequently Asked Questions
Each coin is approximately 25mm, about one inch across, in solid metal with a clean minimalist back and the symbol on the face. They are weighty enough to cast well and small enough to travel with.
Coins are flat and uniform, so they stack neatly, travel well and land cleanly when cast. Charms are three dimensional and read partly by the way they land. Many readers happily use both together.
You receive the coin set, a symbol dictionary explaining every meaning, printable casting sheets and the QR code for the free online video course. Bonus casting mats are included on some listings while stocks last, and this is noted on the product page.
Yes. The coins were designed by a working tea leaf reader, so the symbols speak the same language as the cups and the cards. They also sit very comfortably alongside a tarot or oracle spread.
Every order is packed and dispatched by hand from Berwick, Victoria, usually within 1 to 2 business days. Australian orders generally arrive within 2 to 8 business days, and international orders within 5 to 12 business days. Most of our products include a QR code that unlocks a free online video course valued at 110 dollars, taught by Karin herself. Scan the code, work through the lessons at your own pace, and you will know exactly how to use your new tools. Every purchase also comes with an invitation to the members only Tea Table Circle.
If you change your mind, you are welcome to a store credit or exchange within 14 days of delivery, provided the item is unused, in its original packaging and returned with proof of purchase.
