Tea and cake, the way it used to be done

Very dark pink roses on white bone china, with gold trim on a cup, saucer and matching cake plate. This original trio dates from the 1960s and has been upcycled in my studio: inside the cup, traditional tea leaf reading symbols are printed permanently, so you can read your leaves from the very first cup.

I'm Karin. I read with these cups, and I teach people to do the same. I hand-pick every vintage piece myself, and this trio is a true one-off: there is only one, and when it is gone, it is gone.

How it works

Drink your tea, leaving a little liquid and a few leaves behind. Swirl the cup three times, turn it onto the saucer to drain, then turn it back over. The leaves settle beside the printed symbols: those near the rim speak to the near future, those near the base to what lies further ahead. Your guide tells you what each one means.

Care

Vintage china, so every cup is a little different. Food safe and made for everyday tea. Hand wash only: the real gold trim will not survive the dishwasher or the microwave. The printed symbols are permanent and will not fade.
